It’s all to play for this week as the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 resumes with some mouth-watering second-leg clashes.
But who will rise up above the rest and be crowned the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week, sponsored by Banco Santander?
Borussia Dortmund will be out to become the first team in competition history to claw back a 3-0 first-leg defeat, and to do so they will have to stop Tottenham Hotspur’s hero of the hour last time out, Jan Vertonghen.
The big defender scored one and bagged an assist from left wing-back in the first leg at Wembley last month, turning in a performance that saw him named UEFA Champions League Player of the Week, sponsored by Banco Santander.
Ajax, meanwhile, will have to regroup after going down 2-1 to Real Madrid in Amsterdam and will be desperate to shackle midfield creator Toni Kroos.
The Madrid man leads the charts in the completed key passes in this season’s competition (26).
Voting for Player of the Week opens on Thursday.
