Santi Mina took centre stage for Valencia this past weekend as he inspired his side to victory at Huesca which brought three vital points in their hunt for Champions League football.
The Spain international struck twice in the 6-2 thrashing of La Liga’s bottom club and also bagged two assists as he set up Rodrigo for a double of his own.
The win leaves them three points behind fourth-placed Getafe with two matchdays remaining.
There was also a vital win for Real Valladolid, after Waldo Rubio hit the only goal of the game in their triumph over Athletic, which leaves his side a point clear of the relegation zone as their battle for survival reaches its final stage.
Elsewhere, Real Madrid got back to winning ways as Mariano Diaz struck twice to see off Villarreal 3-2.
