Barcelona took a huge stride towards sealing the Liga title this past weekend after Luis Suarez set them on their way to a 2-0 victory over second-placed Atletico Madrid.
The Uruguay international's brilliant, curling effort from outside the box broke the deadlock with just five minutes remaining at Camp Nou, allowing Lionel Messi to settle the tie a minute later.
The victory left Barca 11 points clear with just seven matchdays remaining in Spain.
Elsewhere, an impressive brace from Giovani Lo Celso gave Real Betis a 2-1 victory over Villarreal.
The former PSG man struck either side of Ramiro Funes Mori’s equaliser, leaving Betis within touching distance of the European places.
And there was also joy for high-flying Getafe, as Angel Rodriguez struck his club’s 600th Liga goal to ensure they remained in the final Champions League slot.
