'It's Coming Home!' - Timberlake joins in England World Cup fever

Even Justin Timberlake thinks football is coming home!

England face Croatia on Wednesday in their first World Cup semi-final since 1990, looking to reach the final for the first time since 1966.

The Three Lions will face either Belgium or France in the showpiece if they are able to beat Croatia, who have been forced to endure two successive penalty shootouts, against Denmark and hosts Russia.

Football fever, as such, is sweeping the nation, with the 1996 anthem Three Lions, by comedians David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and band The Lightning Seeds , yet again a chart-topping hit.

And pop megastar Timberlake even referenced the tune at his sold-out set at the O2 Arena, declaring himself an "honorary Brit" before leading a chorus of those famous lines.

While stopping short of singing the 1996 anthem, Timberlake thrilled the packed arena by showing his excitement for England's chances in Russia.

"It's. Coming. Home," the 37-year-old yelled. "Somebody told me the first time I came here that I became an honorary Brit, so…It's. Coming. Home.

"Go on then Kane! Go on then Maguire! I'd be so hyped!"

TV audience figures have sky-rocketed during the tournament, with a staggering 19.6 million people watching England's win over Sweden in the quarter-finals.

That will surely be topped by the last-four encounter, while a potential final meeting with group opponents Belgium or old rivals France likely to be even bigger.

Timberlake may have trouble following the matches live, though, with another gig in London during the semi-final and a performance in Amsterdam on Sunday, where the final takes place in Moscow.
