Cristiano Ronaldo's yacht inspected by the Spanish Tax Agency

Several agents from the Customs department of the Spanish Tax Agency performed an inspection of Cristiano Ronaldo's yacht in Formentera.

The Real Madrid superstar was with his partner Georgina as well as his mother, children and friends in the Balearic Islands when the agents went on board the vessel.

Man Utd's worst ever signings

Ronaldo was at a restaurant at the time, according to Hola, with a family friend assisting the customs agents during their inspection.

The yacht is currently rented by Ronaldo, and was boarded as part of a routine inspection.

The Portugal international has been accused of tax fraud in Spain where the Madrid state prosecutor has accused Ronaldo of “intentionally” not declaring income of €28.4 million (£25m) surrounding the player's image rights, and declaring €11.5m of earnings from 2011-14 when his actual income was almost €43m.

Tax agency sources told Cadena Ser that this inspection was not related with the tax fraud investigation, and only was a routine inspection to check some data about the boat and the company it is being rented from.

The agents spent an hour-and-a-half on the yacht before finishing their inspection and leaving amicably. It is reported that Ronaldo returned to the yacht, but did not have any contact with the agents.

Speculation surrounding the tax fraud accusations has seen the 32-year-old linked with a move away from Real Madrid, but Ronaldo has admitted that he is happy to remain at Santiago Bernabeu.
