Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is a man who keeps his promises. The former winger said that he would give Ingolstadt a special prize if they defeated Bayern's title rivals RB Leipzig, and has followed up on that claim with a generous gift.
'Alexis unsure over Aresenal renewal'
Before the Bundesliga mid-season break, Ingolstadt defeated RB Leipzig by a goal, allowing Bayern to go top of the table. A month later, the Bavarian side lead Leipzig by just three points, but Rummenigge is a man of his word, and delivered Ingolstadt's reward to the club.
On Tuesday, he visited Ingolstadt's office to present a truck filled with pretzels and Bavarian veal sausages (weisswurst) - enough to feed 80 people!
As well as the gift to Ingolstadt, Bayern have now promised the same reward to any team that gets one over on Leipzig for the rest of the 2016-17 Bundesliga campaign.
Bayern resumed their Bundesliga campaign on Friday with a 2-1 win over Freiburg, while Ingolstadt are currently second last after 17 games.
