Noteworthy applicants included former Liverpool stars Robbie Fowler and Harry Kewell, along with familiar Indian Super League (ISL) faces such as Kibu Vicuna, Eelco Schattorie and Khalid Jamil.</p><p>Despite being unsuccessful, Xavi's application is seen as indicative of Indian football's growing international appeal. For the AIFF, the process involved sifting through 170 applicants, highlighting the global interest in the position.</p>
