On Friday afternoon, Zaha's return to Selhurst Park appeared to be on when journalist <a href="https://x.com/yagosabuncuoglu/status/1821947796527689810?t=uisTIlEe5JgILEk-GAE9ag&amp;s=19" target="_blank">Yagiz Sabuncuoglu</a> claimed the winger had reached an agreement with Palace. But all is not as it seems; according to <a href="https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1821981702484345049" target="_blank">Fabrizio Romano</a>, the deal is currently off.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Zaha endured a pretty miserable season with Galatasaray after joining the Turkish giants on a free transfer. The Ivory Coast international started just 13 Super Lig games and was used sparingly in the second half of the campaign after falling down the pecking order. This would be the third time he's signed for Palace, and it's a place he's clearly comfortable at following yet another disappointing spell away from south London.

Zaha was reportedly offered £200,000 per week to remain at Palace but rejected that in order to join Galatasaray.

It remains to be seen whether Zaha will return to Palace or not, but the fact that he was left out of Galatasaray's squad for the season opener against Hatayspor on Friday evening suggests his future lies away from Istanbul.
