<p>Gallagher had been one of Chelsea's top performers under Mauricio Pochettino last season, however, the midfielder has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur with the 24-year-old having rejected a contract extension this summer. Chelsea had reportedly offered the Epsom-born midfielder an extension of two years with an option for an additional year.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>As per <a href="https://x.com/JacobsBen/status/1819353713925836804" target="_blank">Ben Jacobs</a>, Gallagher rejected the extension offer from Chelsea as the Blues have informed him that he will not have a significant role in Enzo Maresca's side as the Italian prefers a more possession-dominated midfield. As such, Gallagher believes that this will affect his chances to make England's squad for the 2026 World Cup in the United States.</p>

<p>Tottenham Hotspur had been the most heavily linked with Gallagher for a move this summer.
