However, the saga has finally reached its end and the end to the legendary midfielder's stint at the Catalan club could have been worse as Cope has revealed how badly things ended between president Joan Laporta and the coach. The report has suggested that the World Cup winner had texted Laporta over WhatsApp to clarify his future, however, he did not receive a response from the 61-year-old Barcelona president.

Later on, Laporta got a hold of Xavi at the Barcelona training centre and decided that there would be an impromptu meeting with the duo being joined by Deco, Rafa Yuste and assistant coach, Oscar Hernandez.
