Weston McKennie reportedly set to sign new Juventus contract that would make USMNT star one of club's top earners

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The new deal is a major sign of confidence from Juve, who have finally put the days of trying to get rid of McKennie behind them. The American has fought back from the brink several times and has established himself as one of the club's more consistent performers under multiple managers.</p><p>Notably, the contract would keep McKennie tied to Juve at a crucial time in his career, as it guarantees he'll remain with the Serie A giants right on through next summer's World Cup. The midfielder is expected to be a key member of Mauricio Pochettino's U.S. men's national team squad when the world's biggest tournament arrives on U.S. soil in 2026.</p>
