<p>According to the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14332965/Man-United-plans-Old-Trafford-green-light.html" target="_blank">Daily Mail</a>, officials at Trafford Council unanimously backed plans for a new Old Trafford on Monday. The report adds it is believed the project will add £7.3 billion ($9bn) to the economy and provide 90,000 jobs and 15,000 homes. </p>

<p>The Mail adds that a decision on whether to build a new 100,000 stadium or refurbish the current ground, and add around 14,000 seats to take it to 87,000, is expected at the end of the season. </p>
