<p>The 28-year-old went under the knife in an attempt to fix the persistent knee issue she has experienced since tearing her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/acl-injujry-arsenal-miedema-dutch-striker-surgery/blta8ecc9147ac89332" target="_blank">while playing for Arsenal in December 2022</a>. Miedema <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-city-women-player-ratings-arsenal-vivianne-miedema-lionesses-jess-park-gareth-taylor-wsl/bltf79e5ad38816c72b" target="_blank">made a positive impact since arriving at City</a>, scoring twice in five appearances, but will now be sidelined as she recovers from her latest surgery.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>"The Dutch international will now begin a period of rehabilitation at the City Football Academy, working closely with the club’s medical team," a <a href="https://www.mancity.com/news/womens/vivianne-miedema-man-city-injury-update-63865886" target="_blank">City statement</a> read. "Everyone at City would like to wish Viv a full and speedy recovery."</p><p>The club also acknowledged that the surgery was successful, although no timeframe was given for her return to action.</p>
