<p>According to <a href="https://www.relevo.com/futbol/liga-primera/real-madrid-vinicius-negocian-renovacion-20250207113830-nt.html" target="_blank"><em>Relevo</em></a>, Madrid and Vinicius sat down for contract talks two weeks ago but an agreement is not close. Los Blancos' offer is said to have been rejected by the Brazilian because it is too low, especially with Saudi Pro League officials allegedly <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/saudi-arabia-world-record-300m-transfer-bid-vinicius-junior-real-madrid-superstar-join-cristiano-ronaldo-middle-east-1bn-contract/blt611a0d1ee09ef39b" target="_blank">offering him a €1 billion (£834m) contract</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The 24-year-old, whose contract runs until 2027, is reportedly going to be the subject of a €300m (£250m/$310m) bid from the Saudi league but <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/vinicius-jr-happy-history-real-madrid-carlo-ancelotti-saudi-move/blt6740a9885c9d520e" target="_blank">Madrid are still favourites to retain the forward</a> for a while yet, despite this eye-watering proposal.</p>

<p>Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti did, however, admit that he would <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/carlo-ancelotti-admits-understand-if-vinicius-junior-left-real-madrid-for-saudi-arabia-la-liga-leaders-brace-world-record-transfer-bid/blt25dddd6b02db3c03" target="_blank">"understand" if the Brazil international moved to the Middle East</a> due to the aforementioned lucrative offer on the table.</p><p>"They're individual decisions. But to me, [Vinicius] looks happy and excited about staying here and winning trophies with Real Madrid. I think he's thinking about choosing glory," he added.</p>
