<p>Diaz produced one of the most electrifying goals of the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, dazzling spectators with a sensational solo effort against reigning world champions Argentina. Having come close on two earlier occasions, the Liverpool star made his third opportunity count. </p><p>Receiving the ball just past the halfway line on the left side, Diaz surged forward with explosive pace. His balance and control were on full display as he weaved through Argentina’s backline and slotted the ball past Emiliano Martínez to give Colombia a stunning 1-0 lead.   </p>

<p>Despite Colombia's early dominance and Díaz’s heroics, Argentina managed to salvage a draw late in the match. With just under ten minutes remaining in regulation time, Thiago Almada produced a moment of quality to equalize. </p>

<p>Diaz's 24th-minute strike marked his seventh goal in the current qualifying campaign and continued his fine run of form, having now scored in three consecutive qualifiers. This latest effort brought his international tally to 19 goals.  </p>
