Now, a clip of the England international has surfaced, where the 28-year-old rather unenthusiastically reacts to supporters chanting his name during his first visit to an Al-Ahli club shop.

Toney was reportedly <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/brentford-100m-price-tag-chelsea-arsenal-target-ivan-toney-january-transfer-window/bltdec3b69c6d7b5e16" target="_blank">once valued at £100m by Brentford</a> and was coveted by the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea. But as his form dropped off and his contract ticked down, the interest in the 28-year-old waned, before the ex-Peterborough United star made the switch to the Middle East. In a time that is likely to be his peak years of football, he has traded it in for a lucrative two-year deal in a division of a much lower quality.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Toney could make his Al-Ahli debut when they take on Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr on September 13 in the Saudi Pro League. His new team currently sit eighth in the table following a win and a loss so far this season.
