<p>Keane doubted the England international's impact as he returned from injury ahead of the match against Manchester United this month. After the attacking midfielder scored the winning goal, he signalled his critics in the celebration and hinted it was a nod to the ex-Red Devils star after the game, saying: "Just a little bit of outside noise wasn't there this week. People have their opinions. I wanted to do my talking on the pitch."</p>

<p>Asked by Gary Neville for his thoughts on the celebration, Keane said on <em>The Overlap</em> podcast: "Good on him, yeah. Absolutely. No problem. I still go to what I said, I don't think he does enough of that. But when he scored, I was at home with my cup of tea and I went: 'Good on you'. No problem. If people have a go at you, you answer them back. I was hoping he was going to do the same the other day but he was a sub against Ipswich, so..."</p>

WHAT KEANE SAID

<p>With nine goals and five assists to his name in the Premier League this season, Maddison has been one of the top performers for Ange Postecoglou's team and will be looking to fire them to a third straight win when they face Manchester City on Wednesday.</p>
