In their Concacaf Champions Cup match against Canadian Premier League side Cavalry FC, the USMNT prospect bagged the opening goal in a 3-0 victory for the Lions. Following his strike, he celebrated by hitting the Griddy dance while being swarmed by teammates.

Despite traveling to England and even taking pictures in the club's kit, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/usmnt-forward-duncan-mcguire-complete-usd6-5-million-transfer-blackburn-rovers-orlando-city-preseason/blt4578ec8e52322012" target="_blank">Blackburn officials failed to submit the paperwork on time to complete his transfer.</a>As a result, he returned to Orlando and is set to play with them at least through the summer transfer window.
