<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/arsenal-victor-osimhen-transfer-interest-eur100m-rated-napoli-striker-chelsea-competition/blt683819aebe577bb7" target="_blank">Arsenal and Chelsea have both been linked</a> with a move to try to sign Osimhen before the end of the summer transfer window. The Napoli star signed a new contract last summer with a €130 million (£110m/$145m) release clause but no club has thus far shown a willingness to trigger it. PSG were interested in Osimhen last summer and the striker would like to make that move, provided a new offer is tabled, per <a href="https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Calciomercato/Napoli/24-08-2024/cosa-fara-il-napoli-con-osimhen.shtml?refresh_ce" target="_blank">La Gazzetta dello Sport</a>.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Arsenal are said to be hovering in the background, as they continue to monitor Osimhen's situation, while <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/chelsea-enzo-maresca-blues-target-new-striker-victor-osimhen-transfer-links/blt0c11213b6c99bb68" target="_blank">Chelsea have only proposed a loan</a>, something Napoli are not willing to countenance. While PSG could table a bid this week, it is expected to fall below Napoli's minimum demand of €100m (£85m/$112m) and there remains a possibility that Osimhen will simply have to remain in Italy.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Osimhen would like to join PSG because they have hired Luis Campos, a man he considers to be his "football father". Campos pushed Lille to sign Osimhen in 2019 and may well be driving PSG's pursuit.
