<p>U.S. women's national team star Sophia Smith and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson were married on Saturday, the couple announced on social media. This past June, they announced their engagement, six years after meeting at Stanford.</p><p>For the wedding, which took place on Jan. 25, Smith wore an elegant white dress, and Wilson in a classic black tuxedo. They posed for photos together in the Arizona desert, with the USWNT star holding a  bouquet of white flowers.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>In the 2020 NWSL draft, Smith was selected first overall by the Thorns from the University of Stanford.
