<p>Speaking to <a href="https://meninred97.com/brady-gutierrez-aiming-for-team-usa-olympic-spots/" target="_blank">MenInRed97.com,</a> Gutierrez revealed that while he has not had any recent conversations with U23 USMNT boss Marko Mitrovic, he still feels in the picture for a potential role in Paris this summer. Gutierrez made two appearances for the U23 USMNT last fall in their October camp, but missed out on the squad in March.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The 20-year-old has three goals and one assist in 13 appearances this season, being one of the lone bright spots in a struggling Chicago side. An option on the wing for Mitrovic, Gutierrez would provide depth in an area with stiff competition for the U.S. this summer. The other left-wing options for the U.S. are Cade Cowell, Griffin Yow and Kevin Paredes - with the latter expected to be the starter.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>“I think I’m still in the picture,” Gutiérrez said. “I really haven’t had conversations with [Marko] or anyone lately, but I feel like I’m still part of the group… Something that every player wants to do is play for their country and represent their country. It’s a really big motivation for me.”</p>

WHAT GUTIERREZ SAID

<p>The Fire are back in action this weekend against D.C. United in an Eastern Conference clash. Chicago will look to get back to winning ways against Christian Benteke and Co. The U23 USMNT meanwhile, will report for a June camp with the roster being announced the first week of the month.</p>
