<p>The 20-year-old was making just his second start of the season after earning a reputation as a super-sub for Aston Villa this season. Emery's side followed up their memorable Champions League win against Bayern Munich <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-in/lists/aston-villa-player-ratings-bologna-jhon-duran-john-mcginn-maintain-perfect-champions-league-start/bltf0a51e0dd5d00046" target="_blank">by beating Serie A side Bologna 2-0</a>, with Duran grabbing the second goal, but some of the shine was taken off his efforts by his reaction to being substituted moments after scoring.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Duran punched his seat in the dugout before kicking the one in front of him as he let his emotions out. <p>“I have no problem with his reaction,” Emery said afterwards. "Every message we send in the dressing room is about respect and having our values. Some young players can react a little bit, but it is under my control. His first start of this year – always it is more difficult to start when the opponents are fresh.</p><p>“He played very well, and he scored a good goal. It was fantastic the way he accelerated. We will play both strikers sometimes, and when they play individually as well as today – with Ollie Watkins – it is best for the team."</p>

WHAT EMERY SAID

<p>Duran once again stated his case to earn more starts, but he may have to settle for a spot on the bench when Villa host Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday. </p>
