WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Liverpool supporters have reacted angrily to footage of the event, but it has been described as a 'barbecue' - put on by the player himself rather than the club - despite the many activities and attractions that apparently formed part of the day.</p><p><em>The Athletic</em>'s James Pearce tweetied: Liverpool did not ‘throw a party’ for Trent Alexander-Arnold. There was a barbecue at the AXA Training Centre on Friday. Trent put it on to thank teammates and staff. Similar to what Roberto Firmino did before he left in 2023. One user, @LFCRetro_ posted: "Canny wait to see the back of that egotistical cobra and his ghastly family."</p><p>Another, @lfcsge93 added: "Can him and his family f*ck off now? Hopefully Real Madrid fans tear him a new one."</p><p>@KayLFC05_ took aim at the club for trying to hide the 'barbecue', posting: "Interesting how the club tried to keep this under wraps and not post this anywhere on social media."</p><p>And @P4ul1e called on fans to continue booing the defender, saying: "An absolute embarrassment. <p>The 'barbecue' appeared to have a lot of activities and entertainment on offer for guests. There was even a man with a flamethrower roaming the grounds, alongside several fairground games and Alexander-Arnold-themed goodies, including cakes.</p>
