<p>Kinsky has joined Tottenham on a long-term contract running until 2031 from Slavia Prague, departing the Czech giants after only half a season as their starting goalkeeper. He had impressed on loan at Pardubice during the 2023-24 campaign, where he announced himself as one of his home country's top prospects.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Kinsky's arrival comes at a time where Spurs are battling an injury and illness crisis. First-choice stopper Guglielmo Vicario broke a bone in his ankle during their 4-0 win at Manchester City in November and will not return until February at the earliest. His deputy, 36-year-old Fraser Forster, was ruled out of Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Newcastle after falling victim to a sickness bug that has plagued the dressing room and he is a doubt to face Liverpool in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday. This meant third-choice Brandon Austin had to be drafted in for his debut against the Magpies, and he was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ally-mccoist-shockingly-breaks-unwritten-commentary-rule-newcastle-win-tottenham/blt34b85515a8185b20" target="_blank">named man of the match by host broadcaster TNT Sports</a> for his efforts.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Kinsky shares the same name as his father, who was also a professional goalkeeper and notably was part of the Czech Republic's squads at Euro 2004 and the 2006 FIFA World Cup.</p>
