This comes less than a day after the Three Lions, managed by interim boss Lee Carsley, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/england-player-ratings-greece-phil-foden-jude-bellingham-jordan-pickford/blt064b3d977fb709c0" target="_blank">lost 2-1 to Greece</a> in the Nations League.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Carsley cast doubt on his England future after saying he would "hopefully" go back to managing the under-21s, but that the Greece loss would have "almost no impact" on his chances of getting the senior role permanently. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/thomas-tuchel-england-fa-approval-foreign-appointment-mauricio-pochettino-candidates/bltb5e35997c93a80d7#cse0daf7dce70f3db8" target="_blank">Tuchel has been linked with the England job</a> before - one that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/gareth-southgate-resigns-as-england-manager-emotional-statement-after-euro-2024-final-heartbreak/bltd1a723cfd0ac920e#csc05f238619d3cda8" target="_blank">Gareth Southgate successfully presided over for nearly eight years.</a> Whether the Football Association try to secure Tuchel's services remains to be seen.</p>
