<p>Theo Hernandez's long-term future at AC Milan might be in jeopardy as the Serie A giants ponder whether to meet the France international's excessive wage demands, <a href="https://www.calciomercato.com/news/milan-fonseca-il-dito-contro-hernandez-il-francese-deve-dimostra-65482">Calciomercato</a> have reported.</p><p>Hernandez signed for Milan in 2019 after an unsuccessful stint at Real Madrid and quickly became a key figure at San Siro. </p><p>However, after five largely successful years, Milan are unsure whether to remove the left-back's contract, which expires in 2026, or cash in on him.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The 27-year-old has enjoyed a largely successful spell at Milan and has established himself as one of the leading full-backs in Europe.</p><p>However, per the Calciomercato report, Hernandez's body language on the pitch and lapses of concentration in defence have called into question his ability to impact games. In fact, after <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-in/lists/usmnt-christian-pulisic-yunus-musah-struggle-to-get-involved-in-ac-milan-3-3-draw-over-cagliari/blt699ba0cd240a8de2" target="_self">Milan's agonising 3-3 draw against Cagliari last weekend</a>, manager Paulo Fonseca called Hernandez out for his defending. </p><p>"You can't concede goals like that... Theo must improve defensively, and we are working to correct that," he told reporters following the game.</p><p>Hernandez sees his long-term future with Milan and is happy at the club as he wants to stay beyond June 2026. But the delay in contract negotiations in recent months has paved the way to some doubts. Additionally, the French left-back has requested an increase from his current €4.5 million per season to €6.5 million. </p><p></p>

<p>Hernandez's time at AC Milan has drawn the attention of some of Europe's biggest clubs. PSG, Bayern Munich, and a few top Premier League clubs are all reported to be interested in acquiring the services of Hernandez, per a report from Spanish publication <a href="https://as.com/futbol/internacional/theo-la-proxima-ganga-n/" target="_self">AS</a>.</p>
