Ted Lasso Season 4 getting a ‘whole host of new characters’ as popular character confirms AFC Richmond return for American coach with newly-formed women’s team

<p>After several months of intense speculation, title character and writer Jason Sudeikis recently <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/official-word-ted-lasso-is-coaching-womens-team-jason-sudeikis-huge-update-season-4-apple-tv-show/blt3e77087a509b2309" target="_blank">confirmed that the show will be streaming again</a> on Apple TV+ in the not too distant future. He also announced that Lasso will <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ted-lasso-womens-coach-huge-season-4-update-jason-sudeikis-afc-richmond-return/blt6e6b8675cdd3b2d3" target="_blank">return to screens as coach of a women’s team</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>There had been <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ted-lasso-self-reboot-different-story-season-4-creator-predicts-jason-sudeikis-afc-richmond/blt1dee94983b1175d6" target="_blank">talk of a “reboot” for the award-winning production</a>, which saw Season 3 come to a close when Lasso returned to his native United States from an eventful stint working in England as a <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/confirmation-ted-lasso-season-4-greenlit-popular-character-return-afc-richmond-waits-call-jason-sudeikis/blt8f216d46db2e59e6" target="_blank">managerial rookie at AFC Richmond.</a></p>

THE GOSSIP

<p>Mohammed helped to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/announced-shortly-ted-lasso-star-teases-huge-season-4-news-fans-wait-return-nate-shelley-afc-richmond/bltede45dc1870d7776" target="_blank">keep the return rumours ticking over with his antics on social media</a>, and he has echoed what Sudeikis said when it comes to a long-awaited new series. He has told the <em>Chris Moyles Show on Radio X</em>: “I know what has come out in the press. But I think it’s fine to say that I did know that before, so I know that it’s about Ted coming back and coaching the women’s football team.”</p><p>He went on to say when asked if Lasso will be heading back to familiar surroundings, but in a slightly different role: “At Richmond. That’s definitely come out.”</p>

WHAT NICK MOHAMMED SAID

<p>Mohammed added when asked if his character, kit-man-turned-coach Shelley, has more stories to tell: “That’s not been announced.
