The players are being given designated sleep and meal times as well as bespoke compression clothes to increase blood circulation.

United are currently in Los Angeles as they gear up for friendlies against Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool and due to the intense California summer weather, there is a risk of the players suffering dehydration. To combat the issue, the club have developed a hydration plan as well as an itinerary that ensures they have the right amount of natural light exposure to alter the players' body clocks to deal with jetlag.

Brailsford is credited with developing the 'Marginal gains' philosophy, which entails breaking down all aspects of something and improving each by a small margin to gain a significant improvement overall. His ideas resulted in success with British Cycling and have been adopted in business circles.
