<p>Serie A giants Inter have confirmed the exit of manager Inzaghi, who will soon join Saudi outfit Al-Hilal before the start of the Club World Cup, according to <a href="https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1929912882335998406" target="_blank">Fabrizio Romano</a>. The former Lazio striker dodged questions about his future in the buildup to Saturday's Champions League final but, in the wake of their devastating 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain, the 49-year-old has left his post at San Siro for a new role.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The former Italy international took charge of Inter in 2021 and led them to a Serie A title, two Coppa Italy trophies and three Supercoppa Italiana successes, but this past season was one of disappointment as they were pipped to the championship by Antonio Conte's Napoli and embarrassed by PSG on Saturday night. Now, he will be tasked with getting the best out of stars like Ruben Neves, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Joao Cancelo for the Club World Cup, though more fresh faces could yet arrive over the course of the summer.</p>

<p>A statement from Inter reads: "The club and Simone Inzaghi's paths separate. This is the decision taken by mutual agreement after the meeting that took place a few minutes ago. Inzaghi's management at Inter will be remembered by fans, players, managers and employees as being characterised by great passion, accompanied by professionalism and dedication."</p><p>President Giuseppe Marotta added: "On behalf of our shareholder Oaktree and the entire club, I would like to thank Simone Inzaghi for the work done, for the passion shown and also for the sincerity in today's discussion, which led to the common decision to separate our paths. Only when we have fought together to achieve success day by day can we have a frank dialogue like the one that occurred today."</p>

WHAT INTER SAID

<p>Al-Hilal have recently been trying to convince Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes to relocate to the Middle East, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-sa/lists/bruno-fernandes-rejects-al-hilal-transfer-offer-man-utd-risk-losing-captain/blt8ce4b5ac53c08648">but their attempts ended in failure</a> despite offering the Portugal international a stunning financial package. Inzaghi will benefit handsomely from joining Al-Hilal too, with his contract said to be worth €26m per season.</p>
