<p>Josef Martínez found the back of the net three times as the San Jose Earthquakes demolished D.C. United 6-1 at PayPal Park over the weekend. The Venezuelan striker opened his account in the 16th minute, added a second in the 81st, and completed his hat-trick in second-half stoppage time.</p><p>Martínez's hat-trick performance not only secured a crucial win for San Jose but also propelled him into sixth place on the MLS all-time scoring list with 118 goals. <p>Martínez's hat-trick was his seventh in MLS, setting a league record. The performance highlights his enduring quality and importance to San Jose's attack.</p><p>With 120 goals in just 190 career appearances, Martínez continues to climb the all-time scoring charts, now sitting behind only Jaime Moreno (133) and Jeff Cunningham (134) before he can break into the top four.</p><p>MLS’ all-time leading goal-scorer, Chris Wondolowski, sits well ahead of Martinez with 171 goals.</p>
