The Red Dragons spent close to £2million (€2.3m/$2.6m) in the recently concluded summer transfer window after securing back-to-back promotions to League One. They bolstered their squad by bringing in eight new faces, while they <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/ryan-reynolds-rob-mcelhenney-axe-wrexham-cut-squad-deadline-day-three-forwards-leave/bltfe51d9fcf8a128ec" target="_blank">parted ways with players</a> who were struggling for game time.

WHAT HAPPENED?

With a beefed-up squad and a strong start to the 2024-25 campaign where Phil Parkinson's side picked up 10 points from their first four League One matches, Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney will be dreaming of achieving yet another promotion to the Championship. However, there remains a slight concern in the squad as they bid to reach the second tier.

In a column for <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5731243/2024/09/01/wrexham-transfer-window/" target="_blank">The Athletic</a> reviewing Wrexham's transfer window, Richard Sutcliffe raised concerns with the club's attack. Sutcliffe wrote: "A slight concern remains up front, despite a host of created chances and two goals against Peterborough. Ollie Palmer has started the season brilliantly, while Steven Fletcher has caused his customary problems from the bench. But, as Modou Faal gets used to life in Wrexham, can both men - 32 and 37 respectively - cope with the demands of a Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday schedule once autumn kicks in? They will simply have to, as both Paul Mullin and Jack Marriott (another who has started the campaign very well) benefit from having a partner who takes the physical knocks and creates space to exploit. It’s why Parkinson pushed hard for experienced 6ft 3in (191cm) striker Michael Smith only to be rebuffed by Sheffield Wednesday."
