<p>Fans around the world, especially those <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/welcome-to-wrexham-survive-brutal-relegation-documentary-update-ryan-reynolds-rob-mcelhenney-season-5-promotion-championship/blt964658e1ff7bb25a" target="_blank">caught up in the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary drama</a>, are starting to believe that the Red Dragons can reach the big time. In contrast, there will always be some that want to write off <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/within-five-years-wrexham-premier-league-ryan-reynolds-rob-mcelhenney-told-how-reach-top-flight-former-promotion-winning-heroes/blt7873e6fc6fdbf1a3" target="_blank">the most ambitious of projects</a>.</p>

People would laugh when we would say that - especially members of the press. But fans and lots of people would laugh.</p><p>"I always found that fascinating. I never got upset about it. I never even got a chip on my shoulder about it. I was confused. I never understood why that would be funny.</p><p>"That’s the way that the system is set up. I didn’t set up the system, somebody else set it up so that you could theoretically take a team from the bottom, or out of the league, and take them to the top. Why would you set up a system if you didn’t believe it could be done? Obviously teams have proved that before.</p><p>"I’ve always found it interesting, and not offensive, that people would laugh at that goal. I don’t hear them laughing as loud now as they did four years ago, but they probably still are somewhere in the world. I just don’t give a f*ck."</p>
