Plenty of highs and lows have been experienced over the course of a four-year tenure.</p>

<p>McElhenney could not have wished for a better afternoon in which to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/rob-mcelhenney-rides-emotional-rollercoaster-wrexham-away-end-hollywood-actor-travelling-fans-red-dragons-promotion/bltc8f71b1984faff56#cs7b3cd7b5e3946a1c" target="_blank">join the most passionate Wrexham fans on the terraces</a>, as he got to join in with raucous singalongs as news filtered through of promotion rivals Wycombe suffering defeat at home to Charlton.</p>

<p>Red Dragons director Humphrey Ker has told the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08TAap4lpGc " target="_blank"><em>Men In Blazers</em></a> podcast of McElhenney’s spell in the stands: "He picked such a good one to go in for because over the course of the game, news was coming in from Adams Park. It was crazy to see where we were on the other side of the stadium. I was in the posh seats eating prawn sandwiches and hobnobbing with local big wigs, as is my want.</p><p>"He ate lunch in the directors box with us and then went over in time for the game. When he came back around, he was a sort of changed man. He came in as though he just communed with the great spirit Gaia on the top of a mountain somewhere. It was great!"</p>

<p>Ker added on McElhenney’s decision to step out of the VIP box and mingle with the masses: "Everybody that is looking for a major spiritual journey should go to an away game and win - go on the p*ss in Blackpool afterwards, that’s what they all need to do!"</p>
