The Red Devils are set to beat Real Madrid to the signature of the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/leny-yoro-europes-best-sign-lille-new-william-saliba/blt87598d5c933102c5" target="_blank">highly-rated 18-year-old French defender</a>, who flew into Manchester on Wednesday for a medical <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-utd-close-in-leny-yoro-lille-medical-to-beat-real-madrid-gbp52m-transfer/bltf4f402f16b89613c" target="_blank">to finalise a £52m ($68m) move. </a>United, however, are still interested in other defensive targets.

And the fact they have signed Yoro does not mean they are less likely to pursue deals for Bayern Munich centre-back De Ligt or Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite. GOAL understands that although the deal for Yoro has moved ahead, De Ligt and Branthwaite are both still admired by United. They remain options to sign subject to having budget and squad space available as the transfer window evolves.

He scored his first goal for the club aged 17 and made 30 appearances in Ligue 1 last season, helping the team finish fourth and qualify for the Champions League qualifying rounds.
