<p>Known for their harsh ratings, the newspaper handed Rashford a 4/10, while Matty Cash, Jacob Ramsey and manager Unai Emery were awarded 3/10. Ramsey "struggled to exist", according to the publisher, while Emery "refused to play".</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

L'Equipe were at least impressed by Morgan Rogers, who gave his side the lead in the first half, awarding him a 6/10 for his display.  </p>

<p>Of former PSG manager Emery, L'Equipe wrote: "His team refused to play and was understandably punished. Furthermore, the Spanish coach failed to find any solutions to secure his team's right wing." They also criticised Cash, writing: "The right-back had clearly been targeted as the weak point in Villa's defence. And rightly so. Struggling from kickoff until his exit, he was unable to win a duel and showed signs of nervousness with the ball."</p>

<p>Villa go to already-relegated Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday before the return leg against PSG next Tuesday at Villa Park, where they will aim to overturn their two-goal deficit. </p>
