While they progressed to the last-four stage by winning the tie 4-2 on aggregate, the English giants' performance was far from convincing.</p>

<p>The defeat against the Polish club was even more humiliating as Enzo Maresca had almost fielded a full-strength squad. After the match, Chelsea skipper James refused to give any excuse as he made a worrying admission about the team.</p>

<p>Speaking to reporters, the English full-back said: "We have no excuses. Today was not progress. If anything, it was a step back. It’s going to affect the mindset. It’s going to be in the back of people’s heads. We lost when we shouldn’t have lost."</p><p>The Blues stars were booed off by the home fans at full-time, but James expressed his sympathy for the supporters. He added: "I understand the frustration, to be honest. Fans come to games to see excitement and goals. We were frustrating to watch."</p>
