Madrid play Barca in the Supercopa final on Sunday afternoon, and the Madrid president has offered to line his team's pockets if they win. According to Spanish publication <a href="https://www.football-espana.net/2024/01/12/florentino-perez-agrees-to-hand-out-multi-million-bonus-to-real-madrid-squad-for-clasico-win" target="_blank">Sport</a>, Perez has committed to spending €4 million (£3.4m/$4.4m) — half of what the team would receive from the Spanish Football Federation for participating.

Barca and Madrid met in last year's final, where the Blaugrana got the better of Los Blancos, running out 3-1 winners. Carlo Ancelotti's have enjoyed more luck recently, though, winning the last two competitive Clasicos, and they will hope to make it a hat-trick.

The Barca manager backed his side to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/barcelona-xavi-real-madrid-el-clasico-supercopa-de-espana-final/bltd13a079bd67a0ecf" target="_blank">defend their Supercopa title</a>: "I think that in the league Clasico, we dominated most of the match. I can compare it to last season's final. I think that we can dominate them and win."
