<p>The Madrid fans sang chants aimed at Xavi and his struggling Barcelona side as they revelled in the glory of their fantastic performance. Madrid, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/real-madrid-player-ratings-vs-girona-jude-bellingham-vinicius-jr/bltcd6d9ff8d03c8685" target="_blank">led by Jude Bellingham, soared to victory</a> and extended their lead at the top of La Liga to five points. Madrid also moved 11 points ahead of Xavi's side.</p>

<p>Goading the Barcelona boss, the Madrid fans chanted: <span>"Xavi quédate". Which roughly translates to a chant similar to one used in England to mock failing managers, 'We want you to </span>stay'. Madrid fans are in no rush to see the struggling boss depart.</p>

<p>Madrid's impressive, statement victory over Girona marked their ambitions to storm to the league title and wrestle it back from Barcelona. Xavi's side <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/boring-barcelona-win-la-liga-xavi-ends-drought-mourinho-way/blt45a658015ac98d0f" target="_blank">were crowned champions last season</a>, but have been far from their best this term.
