<p>The 26-year-old has been linked with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/cristiano-romero-atletico-real-tottenham-defender-top-priority-ahead-club-world-cup/blt5354d67a926a4830" target="_blank">Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid</a> in recent times, and now they may have been put on high alert after the Spurs defender suggested he could be open to leaving the Premier League side this summer.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>He told <a href="https://x.com/gastonedul/status/1914442429245108338" target="_blank">Los Edul</a>: "We're in the Europa League semi-finals, and I want to finish the season on a high note. After that, we'll see. My focus is always on growing and looking for new places to continue developing."</p>

WHAT CRISTIAN ROMERO SAID

<p>Romero joined Tottenham for a fee in the region of £42 million ($56m) in 2021 from Atalanta and since then he has, arguably, developed a reputation for being one of the Premier League's best centre-backs. That reputation may have taken a hit in recent times, though, and now it seems the Argentine international - who has also struggled with injuries - is thinking about making a Spurs exit. </p>
