<p>The Red Dragons headed to St Andrew’s for a meeting with the big-spending Blues hoping to extend their unbeaten start to the 2024-25 League One campaign. Jack Marriott got them off to the perfect start inside three minutes, but that was to be <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ryan-reynolds-strong-message-nfl-tom-brady-wrexham-lose-unbeaten-league-one-record-birmingham-hollywood-derby/blta2b648edbef7def8" target="_blank">as good as it got for the visitors from North Wales</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Jay Stansfield, who could cost Birmingham £15 million ($20m), bagged a brace for the Blues as club investor <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/tom-brady-thanks-david-beckham-teaching-birmingham-win-wrexham-inter-miami-co-owner/blt9d5e41d89768b562" target="_blank">Tom Brady watched on from the stands alongside Manchester United and England legend David Beckham</a>. The home side ran out 3-1 winners on the night.</p>

<p>A second ‘Hollywood derby’ between Wrexham and Birmingham is pencilled in for January 25, 2025 – with that contest taking place at SToK Racecourse. Both sides will hope to still be in the League One promotion race by the time said fixture rolls around, while also looking to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/phil-parkinson-birmingham-outbidded-wrexham-transfer-targets-ryan-reynolds-rob-mcelhenney-cant-compete-tom-brady-league-one/bltfefd402f33c41ac8" target="_blank">further bolster their respective ranks in another transfer window</a>.</p>
