The player's representatives will now review the terms of the deal before the player undergoes a medical and puts pen to paper on a formal deal. WHAT HAPPENED?

The 31-year-old World Cup-winner is <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/raphael-varane-confirms-man-utd-exit-video-reveals-what-he-thinks-about-sir-jim-ratcliffe-ineos-disastrous-2023-24-season/blt754aaa235558d94e" target="_blank">currently a free agent</a> after his contract with United expired at the end of the 2023-24 campaign. The player had a disappointing season at Old Trafford as he remained sidelined with a muscle injury for a lengthy period. He appeared in 22 matches across all competitions and was part of the Red Devils' starting lineup that beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
