Almost two and a half years into their record-breaking partnership, PUMA and Neymar have unveiled the latest Future boot. As its name suggests, the line is PUMA’s forward-looking design, with a focus on innovation and the brand’s latest technology. The latest instalment is dubbed the Supercharge as a nod to the amount of tech that PUMA have sought to use in the design.
PUMAThat technology includes the use of a FUZIONFIT360 dual mesh upper and PUMA’s very own PWRTAPE. Combined, these two new features guarantee support and an adaptive fit. Elsewhere, the boot’s key contact zones are covered with 3D textures that help to improve ball grip and control, while a split plate adds to the traction and stability of the boot.
There’s even more to it than that though. PUMA has also added a Dual-Density Motion System – combining stability with an explosive energy transfer – and a Nano Grip sockliner insole to stop your foot slipping. In other words, PUMA has packed this boot with absolutely all of its most cutting-edge tech.
PUMASpeaking on the launch, PUMA’s Senior Product Line Manager Teamsport Footwear Florian Nemetz particularly focused on the use of PWRTAPE. “The placement of the PWRTAPE is based on strain data collected from measuring strain forces on the upper during a variety of key football movements that include accelerating, running, cutting and kicking,” he explained. “The PWRTAPE has then been integrated in a zig-zag pattern to provide targeted support in the high-strain areas. This provides our athletes with optimal support with an ultimate locked-in fit so you can move without constraints when performing key movements on the pitch.”
PUMAThe future focus extends beyond just the boot, with Neymar and PUMA also hosting the FUTURE World event in Paris. At the event, Neymar will cast his eye over a range of future stars, hoping to find football’s next big thing, who will also become a PUMA Football ambassador for 2023. Neymar described the event as a “beautiful moment,” adding that he and PUMA are “looking to find the future of the game by giving anyone the chance to compete in our future challenge to become a member of the PUMA family.”
PUMAThe PUMA Future Supercharge is available for pre-order now, and will be worn by Neymar and James Maddison in the future. Leading women’s players Julia Grosso and Dzsenifer Marozsán will also wear the Future silhouette, with a specially-designed women’s boot that has a high-performance design based on the anatomical shape of a woman’s foot.
