Warren Zaire-Emery played a crucial role in central midfield, scoring Paris Saint-Germain's second and turning in another composed performance to lead his side to a comfortable 3-0 win. His second half strike, as well as well-worked goals from Lee Kang-in and Vitinha saw the Parisians brush aside Montpellier.
PSG almost went behind early, but a last-ditch slide from Nordi Mukiele prevented early embarrassment. And they soon capitalised. Achraf Hakimi darted down the right before cutting the ball back to Lee, who hit the top corner with a fine effort. Kylian Mbappe almost made it two shortly after, but skewed a volley slightly outside the post.
They established a 2-0 lead 15 minutes into the second half. Ousmane Dembele provided the pass — a deft backheel into the path of Zaire-Emery. And the youngster finished, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way with a driven effort from close range.
Vitinha added the decisive third, sweeping a Hakimi cutback into the far corner from the top of the box. It rounded out a solid showing from the hosts, who will momentarily top Ligue 1 after picking up a valuable three points.
