<p>Around the 13th minute mark, the Italian goalkeeper came off his line as he tried to stop Singo from attempting a shot on goal at the edge of the penalty box. The Ivory Coast international tried to jump over Donnarumma, but he accidentally kicked him in his face leaving the Italian with deep cuts on his right cheekbone.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Donnarumma looked dazed after the horrific challenge as he first received medical attention on the pitch. He was eventually subbed off in the 20th minute as Matvey Sofanov replaced the star custodian. </p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>As the game resumed after the goalkeeper's departure, PSG broke the deadlock as Desire Doue found the back of the net from Achraf Hakimi's assist. Monaco, though, restored parity eight minutes after the break as Salim Ben Seghir converted a penalty.
