<p>Guardiola's future remains up in the air after he admitted during a recent TV appearance that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/next-england-boss-pep-guardiola-addresses-three-lions-rumours-contract-premier-league-champions-man-city-runs-down/blt7ba72e241519f34b" target="_blank">he's yet to make a decision</a> on his plans. The 53-year-old's contract with Manchester City runs until the summer and while the Premier League champions are keen for him to stay on, a number of interested parties have already began to enquire about his availability. That includes the English FA, who <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/fa-approach-pep-guardiola-england-manager-job-man-city-boss-standout-option-replace-gareth-southgate/bltd5ef263fb2974b75" target="_blank">contacted Guardiola at the start of the season</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>According to the <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/10/14/pep-guardiola/" target="_blank">Telegraph</a>, Guardiola has not ruled out talking to the FA about the role. He has admitted in the past that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/pep-guardiola-man-city-world-cup-england-southgate-replacement/bltc074362272115760" target="_blank">he would like to manage at the World Cup</a>, and reportedly likes England and its current squad. England are one of three national teams that have approached the Catalan, however, as the battle to convince him to leave City hots up.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Guardiola has plenty of options on the table, and he may even decide to take another sabbatical like he did when he left Barcelona in 2012. But sources claim that the most likely outcome is that he will sign a new one-year deal to remain at City for a 10th year. He has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/new-farmers-league-man-city-dominance-european-failures-exposed-premier-league-lie/bltb7a9b3fa5634ea12" target="_blank">guided the club to six Premier League titles</a> and the opportunity to bring even more silverware to Etihad Stadium may be too difficult to refuse. </p>
