This comes at a time when he has been <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/35213758/james-mcatee-man-utd-transfer-man-city-squad-axe/" target="_blank">linked with rivals United</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>McAtee has been at City since 2013, alongside two loan spells at Sheffield United.
