<p>The World Cup-winning midfielder has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/paul-pogba-juventus-midfielder-doping-ban-reduced-following-appeal/blt5e2f1cac38c2d0c4#cs7cfc6034c47516e9" target="_blank">reportedly seen his four-year doping ban reduced to 18 months following an appeal</a> to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). As things stand, Pogba could be cleared to resume his professional career in March 2025.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>He remains under contract in Turin until the summer of 2026, but those terms have already been <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/paul-pogba-juventus-wage-cut-doping-ban-ex-man-utd-star-reduction-reprieve/bltcb04f8afc75f1aa3" target="_blank">reduced as far as possible</a> and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/why-paul-pogba-no-future-juventus-despite-doping-ban-reduction-explained/blt0b914d8a1b1a6801" target="_blank">may yet be torn up</a>. Pogba has not figured for the Bianconeri since August 2023, making just 12 appearances in total since re-joining the club after his exit from Manchester United in 2022.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Juve coach <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/juventus-boss-thiago-motta-breaks-silence-paul-pogba-future-doping-ban-reduced-18-months/bltfe188b542b59309e" target="_blank">Thiago Motta said of the Frenchman</a> when asked about his situation after seeing a worldwide ban from all football activity reduced: “Pogba was a great player.”</p><p>Club director Cristiano Giuntoli also referred to Pogba in the past tense when saying ahead of a Serie A clash with Cagliari: “We have to wait for the definitive appeal result. Clearly, he was a great player but has been out for a long time. We’ll wait for the CAS result.”</p>

WHAT MOTTA & GIUNTOLI SAID

<p>Pogba was in attendance to watch Juventus play out a 1-1 draw with Cagliari, with the 31-year-old given a decent reception by the home support. It does, however, remain to be seen where his next competitive outing will come.</p>
