<p>According to <a href="https://x.com/sachatavolieri/status/1941822221346894335" target="_blank">Sacha Tavolieri,</a> Dortmund and Monaco are also strongly interested in the player with both clubs already in contacts with the players entourage. However, Forest, boosted by <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/newcastle-anthony-elanga-breakthrough-strike-deal-nottingham-forest-ex-man-utd-star/blt76daa99b1df074ff" target="_blank">the £55 million ($75m) they could receive from the sale of Elanga</a>, are ready to satisfy the Dutch club with a bid of €40m (£34m/$46m) for the player according to <a href="https://www.voetbalzone.nl/nieuws/club-uit-premier-league-meldt-zich-spoedig-bij-psv-voor-johan-bakayoko/blt6201c00c13d83fc6" target="_blank"><em>De Telegraaf</em>, via <em>Voetbalzone</em>.</a></p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Bakayoko is eager to play in the Champions League. While both Dortmund and Monaco can provide that Forest can only provide Conference League football. Forest have agreed a deal with Lyon for <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-in/lists/chelsea-nottingham-forest-agree-deal-lyon-star-malick-fofana-serious-competition-blues-bayern-munich-agree-personal-terms/blt82087a34a1ebd7a5" target="_blank">Malick Fofana</a> as backup to Bakayoko but face competition from Chelsea and Bayern Munich as they are yet to convince the player on a contract.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>PSV are set to complete the sale of <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-in/lists/napoli-agree-eur28m-sign-noa-lang-psv-netherlands-international-medical/bltb94ac47229c2b06a" target="_blank">Noa Lang to Napoli</a> for a sum of €28m (£24m/$32m) this month, with the player reportedly set for a medical.</p>
