Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella arrived at Inter on a loan deal in 2019 from Cagliari, where he had spent the four previous seasons. He was later signed permanently by the Nerazzurri in 2020. It was under Simone Inzaghi, who arrived at the club in 2021, that Barella began to show his true potential.
The Italian’s versatility, along with his ability to defend deep and push forward in attack, made him an indispensable part of an Inter team that reached the Champions League final in the 2022-23 season and went on to win the Scudetto the following year.
Barella is being well compensated for his contributions at Inter and currently ranks as one of their highest paid players under his current contract.
