<p>AC Milan are actively searching for a striker to partner Mexican international Santiago Gimenez and have identified Mateta and Jackson as alternatives to primary target Vlahovic, according to Matteo Moretto, <a href="https://www.calciomercato.com/notizie/milan-attaccante-cercasi-piace-jackson-del-chelsea-spunta-anche-mateta/blt79a02fc7a12fc396" target="_blank">via <em>Calciomercato</em>.</a></p><p>Chelsea have set an asking price of €40 million (£34m/$47m) for Jackson while Mateta, whose contract expirees in 2026, would come for a lesser price. &nbsp;</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Milan’s main target for the striker role still remains <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ac-milan-serie-a-top-scorer-mateo-retegui-juventus-dusan-vlahovic-coach-max-allegri-midfielder-simon-sohm/blt23a903b32ddd54ac" target="_blank">Juventus striker Vlahovic,</a> who has a contract with the Old lady until 2026. Milan had exploratory talks for Atalanta striker <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ac-milan-compete-saudi-arabia-interest-sign-serie-a-top-scorer/blt0854ba680dfba9a1" target="_blank">Mateo Retegui</a> and Bayer Leverkusen striker <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ac-milan-spending-bayer-leverkusen-new-striker-dusan-vlahovic/blt89639d3906d5233c" target="_blank">Victor Boniface</a> but so far Milan have not advanced in negotiations for any of the targets.</p>
